Facebook with his 800 million users is getting competetion by a Student called Max Schrems. He legally found a way to get his personal facebook data sent to him.
The data was burned on a CD and contained 1200 pages. Everything has been saved. Messages, profile entries and chats for the last 3 years.
In his study project he revealed that Facebook is saving everything and not deleting it, even after he thought they would(e.g. account deletion)
For European facebook users, the sister company is located in Ireland and therefore european laws apply. If you personally want that data stand your man and request it. Facebook is required to reveal them to you.
